AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR EXPAT WRITERS
by Bonnie Caton in Portland, Oregon
"Every day, I go to work, unlock my desk drawer, and drop my purse in.
And each time, I think 'I can't wait for the day I'll take my purse
back out of that drawer, leave, and never come back.'" - Laurie C., 53
If thoughts like these are ringing through your mind as you reach the
final few years before retirement, you're not alone.
In fact, subscribers to The Overseas Opportunity Letter, a new and
exciting investment and travel e-letter from
LiveandInvestOverseas.com, are in the same boat. And they have their
eyes on affordable retirement opportunities in places like Panama,
Belize, Mexico, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador,
Dominican Republic, Croatia, France, Portugal, Romania, Malaysia,
China, and New Zealand.
If you think about living or retiring overseas, you might consider
writing for Live and Invest Overseas. The best way to start is with a
small feature in The Overseas Opportunity Letter. It runs "from the
frontline" briefs (typically 200 to 500 words) from writers overseas.
Pay for these smaller articles starts at $50 each.
First, read up on the factual writing style and find out if your
destination has been covered lately in the online archives, here:
http://www.liveandinvestoverseas.com/archives.html
Then, read the writer's guidelines (link below).
You don't need to query. Just send the whole story as an attached
Word Document.
Once you've broken in with a smaller piece, and the editors at Live
and Invest Overseas are familiar with your writing style, you could
think about writing a feature article for their other, newer e-letter,
called The Overseas Retirement Letter. If you've got expert
information and advice on a little-known spot abroad -- and you can
describe it in a way that makes it attractive to retirees -- you could
make $1,500 to $2,000 for an eight- to 10-page feature.
You'll need to research the price of living and a few other details to
include in sidebars. But really, if you've lived or traveled
extensively abroad and can provide information on a little-known place
(especially in one of the countries on the list above), this could be
a very profitable place to get published.
